We are excited to share a significant milestone in the construction of MLC’s new Physical Education and Sport Precinct. The first stage of development—the new Aquatic Centre —has now reached the end of demolition and excavation works.
More than 30,000 cubic meters of soil have been removed from the site—equivalent to around 1000 truck and trailer loads. With this major earthworks phase now complete, the precinct site is fully prepared, with levels clearly defined for the Olympic-sized pool, car park and supporting infrastructure.

Construction is progressing quickly as we move into the next phase of Stage 1. Over the coming months, the project will reach a number of important milestones, including:
While many of these developments are not visible from outside the campus, we’ll continue sharing regular updates and images to inform our community of progress.
The new MLC Physical Education and Sport Precinct is a visionary project designed to support all students' physical, social and emotional wellbeing. Learn more about the full vision for the precinct and what it will include on our Precinct Overview page.
This precinct is being built not only for today’s students but also for future generations of MLC students.
As Term 2 progresses, we’ll begin to see the first structural elements of the Aquatic Centre and underground car park take shape, marking the transition from groundwork to vertical construction.
MLC continues to work closely with Kapitol, our construction partner, to manage the build safely and respectfully within our local community. We appreciate the patience and support of our neighbours as the project progresses.
We look forward to sharing further updates as this exciting transformation continues and thank our community for your continued support as we create a new era for physical activity and wellbeing at MLC.
